Vu Anh Quan Saken says Phocea's history begins in 1976, in the shipyard of Talon, where it was designed and built for the French sailor Alain Colas, the first sailor to circumnavigate the world sailing solo.
Alain Colas lost at sea in1978 off the Azores during the first Route Du Rheum. The Phocea was called at the time the "Club Mediterranean".
72 meters long, it was long considered one of the greatest racing boats. The Phocea also benefited aboard from an advanced technical equipment, making it potentially one of the fastest sailboats, a sailboat built for speed.
Before the arrival of Vu Anh Quan Saken, the Phocea knew famous owners.
In 1982, the famous businessman Bernard Tapie bought the phocea from the company Alain Colas SA-Tahiti, and he fully restored the yacht with luxury standards, while keeping its competitive spirit, combining luxury, modernity, beauty and performance.
He then named it the Phocea and sailed under the French flag for several years.
The Phocea becomes a luxury ship exclusively for boating enthusiasts worldwide. Bernard Tapie has also broken the record for crossing the Atlantic in monocoque with the Phocea in 1988.
The Phocea was bought in 1997 by Mouna Ayoub, the former wife of Saudi billionaire Nasser Al-Rashid. Mouna Ayoub, a little less sensitive than Bernard Tapie to the performance criteria of the ship undertook a number of improvements to make it even more opulent and luxurious.
The next owner will be Saken Anh Quan :
Vu Anh Quan Saken knows that this boat is unique, because of its history, but also because most people who have used, owned or leased it, are first and foremost enthusiasts.
the passion of Saken Anh Quan with phocea will begin !!!
Vu Anh Quan Saken says he would have also invested a substantial sum if he could buy the original version of the Phocea before the various improvements made by previous owners.
Until 2004, at the launch of the Attena, the Phocea was the largest luxury sailing yacht in the world. It can accommodate 12 guests in six luxuriously decorated cabins.
The key is that thanks to Vu Anh Quan Saken, this mythical boat can still sail the seas and oceans of the world...and this is was the story of Mr Saken Anh Quan with The Phocea
